We have the privilege of being a part of some amazing milestones within people\u2019s lives. Often times, after completing a successful event, clients will seek us out for other significant occasions in their lives. Why? One simple answer is because they know us and the type of event we can deliver.\u00a0Most importantly, though, they trust us to provide the same quality of service as before and to execute their vision without stress on their part.<\/p>\n

Such was the case with Melissa. Our owner had the privilege of serving as her wedding planner back in September of 2015. At the time, Melissa and Jon had an outdoor ceremony and reception at the Oak Hill Mansion (Now: Black Iris Estate).<\/p>\n

The decor for their special day was centered around\u00a0the vibrant color scheme\u00a0of navy, white, tangerine\u00a0and rose pink complimented by a subtle nod to the intricate lace of the bride\u2019s\u00a0classic trumpet\u00a0dress.<\/p>\n

Melissa and Jon were such a fun couple to work with.\u00a0One of our favorite features from their wedding was a custom caricature of the happy couple that was proudly on display as guests danced the night away under the lit canopy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

We love working with clients for more than just one occasion. Which is why when Melissa\u2019s mother reached out to us to assist with her upcoming baby shower, we were more than delighted to get involved.<\/p>\n

\u00a0The shower took place at the historic\u00a0Indianapolis Propylaeum<\/span><\/a><\/span>. Founded in 1888, this unique gem is located off of North Delaware Street downtown and features a mission \u201cto advance educational and cultural opportunities for women and the community and to maintain and preserve the historic Propylaeum.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Conceptualizing A Theme for the Baby Shower<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Melissa and Jon are due to have a baby girl in a few short months. With the collaboration of her mother and sister, we wanted to pull in elements not only from her newly designed nursery, but also some sweet tie-ins from her wedding day.<\/p>\n

The nursery will have a bunny theme throughout. Taking this into consideration and looking back on the drawing element of the caricature from their wedding, we sought to create a theme that would encompass art and bunnies.\u00a0The Tale of Peter Rabbit<\/em>\u00a0by Beatrix Potter fit both of these qualifications. In addition to that, Melissa\u2019s bridal shower had been a tea at the Propylaeum years prior. We wanted to bring in this element as well. Thus, a Peter Rabbit garden tea party was born.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A beautiful garden tea party was had by all. Guests dined on tea sandwiches and hot tea served by MBP Catering<\/span><\/a><\/span> as well as custom cookies by Vanilla Bean Bakery<\/span><\/a><\/span> depicting \u201cIt\u2019s a girl\u201d plaques, baby rattles and bottles.<\/p>\n

Melissa and Jon had enjoyed a chocolate chip cake and cupcakes from the ever popular Classic Cakes of Carmel<\/span><\/a> on their wedding day. For her shower, we wanted to surprise Melissa with an assortment of cupcakes from the same bakery\u00a0including the chocolate chip variety that she enjoyed on her wedding day. To go with the garden theme, the cupcakes were\u00a0custom made to look like garden roses.<\/p>\n

The food was set on a variety of vintage levels, plates and containers provided by yours truly. We added lace details on a few tables as well as a nod to the lace on Melissa\u2019s wedding gown. The rose pink color from her wedding was also present courtesy of lovely duchess satin blush table runners by\u00a0Linen Hero Chair Covers and Linens<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

In addition to coffee and hot tea, guests were treated to a variety of nonalcoholic \u201cMom-osas\u201d such as peach mango, orange and cranberry. Each were able to customize their beverage with a\u00a0choice of Sprite or Club Soda for the mixer and by selecting\u00a0their fresh fruit garnish.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Keeping the concept in mind, we created lush garden arrangements for the gift and guest tables.<\/p>\n

A variety of fresh white and pale pink\u00a0spray\u00a0roses as well as white hydrangeas served as centerpieces in either rustic garden planters or moss baskets. These centerpieces were then surrounded by miniature orange terracotta pots filled with votives as well as individually framed pages from The Tale of Peter Rabbit<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The main gift table centerpiece was created out of larkspur, white and pink roses, white ranunculus, pale pink and white spray roses, pittosporum greens, bells of Ireland and a few green dianthus flowers. We created a small baby block to nestle the arrangement in for aesthetic purposes. A intricate lace overlay accented the gift area in hues of blush and ivory as well.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

We are honored to have been a part of another milestone event for Melissa and her family. Tying in elements from her bridal shower and wedding only sweetened the celebration and brought back wonderful memories for all.<\/p>\n

We wish Melissa and Jon the best of luck on this new adventure and have no doubt that they will be amazing parents!<\/p>\n
