Style shoot: An Architectural Gem
Holiday Park Style Shoot Wedding Inspiration

For an upcoming style shoot, I was inspired by one of my favorite places within the city. Once serving as an adornment on one of the first skyscrapers in New York City, the St. Paul building, today the “Ruins,” are located within Holliday Park on the north side of Indianapolis.

After nearly twenty years of being off limits by one means or another, the Ruins reopened to the public in 2016 after a major renovation due to the efforts of the Friends of Holliday Park. The picturesque and historic area complete with a reflecting pool and a variety of gardens and sculptures was too perfect to pass up.

A Style Shoot in Pictures

The structure and angles found within this dress courtesy of Nancy’s Bridal Boutique perfectly matched the architectural theme of this style shoot.

When trying to develop a design scheme around the influence of stone and marble, there was no way I was not going to make use of this BBJ Linen chrysocolla marble runner. Marble slabs were also utilized as chargers with gold initials embossed on each one rather than place cards.

BBJ Linens latte faille was used for a base and teal napkins were added courtesy of Pier One Imports to bring out a pop of color. Designer Elexa flatware from A Classic Party Rentals and custom purple agate napkin rings in addition to natural stone accents and a custom blue agate table number completed the look and theme. Architectural accents were added via the gold abstract centerpiece complete with accents of teal and marble.

Pulling inspiration from natural items such as stone and marble, bringing wood into the mix seemed like an aesthetically pleasing addition. These new vineyard cross back chairs from A Classic Party Rentals were a fabulous addition to the tablescape. The natural bouquet created by us at All in the Details with touches of soft pink and a variety of greenery to match the surrounding gardens was gathered with a custom gold metal wrap and gemstone accent.

Drawing on the rock portion of the inspiration for this shoot, Classic Cakes created a geode themed cake which we accented with additional sweets in the form of rock candy.
